1st
Since there is only 1 card of each number, only combination of 24 is 7+8+9.
Total of 5 cards, only 3 (7,8,9) of the 5 cards are needed.
Without replacement means when one of the needed cards is taken out, numerator reduces by 1, denominator as well.
Hence the second part of my answer.
ACS can screw with us sometimes...
