You are on the right track. However please do take note of the velocity. It might help to put a bracket when you substitute.

The term is V squared, v^2 is the whole value of velocity to the power of two. When the velocity is three times, it is now (3v)^2, and not 3(v^2). This will have you end up with 9v^2. Doing some rearranging using this will end up with the correct answer. Give it a try! Hope it helps
