Hi! Take a look at the diagram and note the properties of square and equilateral triangle. Sides have equal lengths. So if we know the length of one side, we can then multiply this by the number of sides of the PERIMETER or outside of the shape.
If you count the sides that are facing out (like taking a walk along the side, you will have 10 sides that make up the OUTER side of the shape.
Can you figure out the length of ONE side? Hint - (3 squares side by side is 18cm).
