19 - 13 = 6

He used 6 more two dollar notes than ten dollar notes.

Remember he started with the same number of notes of each type.

Ten dollar notes left : 7 units
Two dollar notes left : 4 units

So 7 - 4 = 3 units


So the two dollar notes remaining is 3 units less than the ten dollar notes remaining.

This also means he used 3 units more of two dollar notes than ten dollar notes.


3 units = 6

1 unit = 6 ÷ 3 = 2


Number of two dollar notes in total
= 4 units + 19
= 4 x 2 + 19
= 8 + 19
= 27

Value of two dollar notes
= 27 x $2
= $54
