The trick is in the rectangle with area 1.5cm². what is its width? After finding that, what is its length?

Once you find these, the answer should be easy to find.

Clarification (in case you can't read my poor handwriting):
Total area of all 4 squares ABCD, BEFM, GHKP and HIRQ

Also the diagram is not really to scale for example the smallest 1cm^2 square HIRQ doesn't look like a square sorry about that!
