in the 1st qn, the given ans is 1000 N.
This is not possible.
becos if the driving force is 1000 N and the friction is 1000 N, the net force would be zero, and not 2 m/s².
When net force is zero, the net acceleration would be zero too. (<=exam tip!)

rem: zero net F means zero net acc.
=> also means constant velocity
