Cheryl, can you tell me what is the formula for the volume of a cylinder? I know the answer but I want you to try it out first.
Volume of cylinder= Base Area× Height
Cheryl the base area is a circle. What is the formula to find the area of a circle?
Pi-r-square
So base area * height
Is pi*r^2 * height
Is pi*r^2 * height
Put in all the values you know :
6284 = 3.142(r^2)*5
Solve for r that's your answer.

With that formula you can solve both questions. Always substitute values you already know in the formula.
Do you need to add in square root?
Yes what you have found is r squared. So naturally when you want to find r you need to square root it
