(a) 15 carpenters can finish 5/3 tables per day. So 1 carpenter can finish (5/3)/15=1/9 table per day.
63/81=7/9, so need 7 carpenters (7/9 divided by 1/9)
(b) 7 carpenters 9 days can finish 7x(1/9)x9=7 tables. So still have 63-7=56 tables left to finish. Now only have 3 carpenters left. 3 carpenters one day can finish 3x(1/9)=1/3 tables, so 56 tables need 56/(1/3)=168 days, 168+9=177 days.

Hope this helps
