I didn't understand the question 1a.the question asked to round off to 1significant.why the answer is not 5 . the answer given is 50.please explain it to me

5 is different from 50. In this case, the ans is 48.6 right? Round it up to the nearest ten. 8 > 5, 48 becomes 50. Treat the 0 from 50 as imaginary, hence only 1 sig fig.
