50¢ x 8 = 400¢ = $ 4

$4 + $1 = $5

A set of one $1 and eight 50¢ coins is worth $5.

$30 ÷ $5 = 6

There are 6 such sets.

Number of $1 coins = 6

6 x 8 = 48

Number of 50¢ coins = 48
