Ans sheet states:
2u of distances=120km
3u=(120/2)x3=180
Van speed =72km/h
Difference=(72/3)x2=48km/h

I ran out of writing space... so i could not write the final step.
But in this question, the key to solve it is knowing that both vehicles started moving at the same time. From there, their distance ratio will be related to their speed ratio.
