I am so sorry Mr Tan. Yes, your answer is correct but the steps are too complicated for me to understand. I am lost on the 2nd step.
I have been used to solve qn in models in primary school. I am new to algebra. I understand there is no obligation to derive simple steps for me. This app has only 2 options : satisfactory ans or not. I thought if I need further advice from u, I should not put satisfactory ans as that will close the case. So I put not satisfactory in hope for your attention and further advice.

Hi Mavis, its good of you to be mature enough to explain yourself. Having never posted any questions on this App, at least I now know the description linked to the upvote/downvote. :) I typically post the fastest solution first, as it takes up the least of my time. May not have time to pen out the simplest solution... but you are fortunate this is the post exam period. Please try to solve the question based on the reasoning steps here. If still unable to solve, refer to the next picture.

Many thanks for your understanding, Mr Tan. Yes, I am new to this app ;)
After seeing your feedback, I have tried to reverse my vote but there is no button to do this reversal act :(

Really appreciate your time to derive an alternative simplier solution for me! Thank you very much and have a good day :)

No worries. Good to note to request to clarify before voting. Have a good week ahead. Note that the primary method used is a simplification of a topic skill named Arithmetric Progression that used to be taught in Sec 3 Additional Mathematics. The dumbed down version of adding a suquence of numbers, is only suitable for cases where you can 1 to the number to get the next term.
