Discriminant > 0 means curve cuts the x-axis at 2 distinct points
Discriminant = 0 means curve cuts x-axis at 1 distinct point
Discriminant < 0 means curve does not cut x-axis at any point
To determine if y-values always positive/negative, refer to coefficient of x^2. If coefficient > 0 then y-values always positive, else it will always be negative
