Because how am I suppose to plot the other points
the equation given is y = x^2 - 5.
the points on the x axis (aka the x-intercepts), would have a y-value of 0 (zero). i.e. coordinates of both points will be (x,0).
substitute y=0 into the equation, you will get x^2=5. so to find the two x values, simply find the square root of 5. you will be shown only one value, but bear in mind that the negative of that value also exists (as it will yield the same value of 5 when squared). therefore, both values will be the values of the x-coordinates for both intercepts, with the negative x-value being the one for the point to the left of the y-axis, and the positive x-value being the one for the point to the right of the y-axis.
