primary 5 Maths Fractions

My working was 4x5/12 = 20/12, 4x1/12=4/12.
So 4-(20/12+4/12) = 2. That was my answer but i don't understand the question.
Please help me as soon as possible

The fractions are in metre, in length, don't multiply. Use plus or minus...
