Hope this helps. You have to visualise after Ming Ho saved the $250 , the amount he had at first plus thus $250 will form 1 unit and Lena has 3 of this unit. So the $900 can be seen in terms of the box and $250.

As 900 and 250 add up equals to 2U. So,1U =575. Before will be 1U+250=825 and that will be the answer.
