Assuming no air resistance, then the force acting downwards is the weight of the ball, so (a) is the answer. With air resistance, there should also be an arrow upwards (equal in length to the downward force if the ball is at terminal velocity. Otherwise, a shorter arrow, compared to the one for weight).
