Helo..Hi.I'm Hidayat.I been trying so hard to solve this since yesterday.Usually I do with my mum.My mum not well and she asked me to give a try.Hope this helps you but sorry I'm not doing it with model drawing.☺

Try Understand The Word Problem Sums First :
Alex, Gil and Meg shared = 740 cards.
Alex had 20 fewer cards than Gil.
Alex had 120 fewer cards than Meg.
How many cards did Alex have ?

740 - 20 - 120 = 600 cards.
600 ÷ 3 = 200 cards.
200 + 120 = 320 cards. ( For Meg )
200 + 20 = 220 cards. ( For Gil )
200 - ( 20 fewer than Gil ) - ( 120 fewer than Meg ) = 60 cards. ( For Alex )
Therefore, the answer: Alex had 60 cards.
