x^2 + x - 5 = 0
x^2 + x - 5 + 2x - 1 = 2x - 1
x^2 + 3x - 6 = 2x - 1
y = 2x - 1

Draw y = 2x - 1
The solution is the intersect of the line in (a) and y = 2x - 1

Change one side to the graph of x^2 + 3x - 6. The other side will be the line you need to draw.

If you use algebra to solve, x = 1.79 or -2.79
