To hold one's horses - to tell someone to be patient
To bite someone's head off - to speak angrily/with anger to someone
On the dot means on time
To be frozen stiff with fear - to be very frightened, too frightened to even move
To make a beeline - to move quickly towards something/someone.
To sit on the fence - to avoid making a choice between any two or more things.
Break one's back - striving/putting lot of efforts to make something happen
Over one's head - beyond understanding
To back someone up - support someone, support someone's argument/statement
