You have to understand 3 points in order to answer this question.
1.The root formula(the one with +- signs)
2.The substitution of the 2+-rt3 into the formula(where (-b) = 2...)
3. The denominator must remain 1, or your numerator must change. ie. if 2a =2, then the '-b' must be 4 instead of 2.
