Using the same approach as how you have solved (a), simply just substitute
x = n^2 + 1 and you will eventually get a quadratic equation in terms of n. From there you just solve as usual and you will get what the question is asking for. Hopefully the worked out solution is clear enough for you. Cheers and all the best! :)
