I didn't think of doing it the way Thomas did, which is actually more efficient, but isn't the LCM of 4 and 12 still 12?
Yes, you're right. There's a mistake in my solution because I misaligned the x2 with the second pair. Thanks for pointing that out.
Another possible pair would then be as follows,
LCM: 2 x 2 x 2 x 3
#2A: 2 x 2 x 2 = 8
#2B: x 3 = 3
8 and 3 will give 24 as the lowest common multiple.
