Nano is a unit prefix which means 'one billionth'. This prefix denotes a factor of 10^(-9) or 0.000 000 001.

*NOTE: 10^(-9) is read as 10 to the power of negative 9.

Knowing what nano is, now we need to know what is nanometres. Using metres as the base unit, nanometres is simply just 10^(-9) metres.

Now, we can solve the question.
13 metres = 13 * 10^9 * 10^(-9) metres = 13 * 10^9 nanometres

*NOTE: 10^9 * 10^(-9) = 1
