A hyperbole is the use of exaggeration to make a point. Example: 'I've told you a million times!' --> "a million times" is the hyperbole you used to tell the person that you're frustrated and you've told him too many times, it feels almost like a million times.

Hi there! A hyperbole is a literary device, which uses exaggeration. The most common effects of a hyperbole would be emphasis (which serves to illustrate a point/argument).
Example: I'm so hungry I could eat a horse.
Hyperbole is employed in the phrase 'could eat a horse', which exaggerates how hungry the persona is.
