Have difficulties trying to figure out how to solve this question , some previous attempts on similar types questions has been successful but I don't understand how I got the answers.

Thanks for the swift response! :) one part I don't quite understand is where X1= k/9y*2 would turn into X1= 1/9x , would you mind explaining it? Sorry for the trouble!

I hope this is clearer! But basically x=k/y^2 when x=8 and when y is equal to a certain value. When this y increases by 3, the new x (which is x’) will be 1/9 of k/y^2. This k/y^2 is equal to x (as seen in equation 1).
