If their speeds are constant, shouldn't Tom be always 4.5 Km ahead of Peter.
4.5/20=13.5 min and so Peter finished at 11.15 +13.5 min= 11.28 min 30 sec?

Hi tried upload the ans but app hanged. Draw boxes. 1/2of P's distance, T was 4.5km ahead. 2/2 of P's, T was 9km ahead. Understand your thinking but if you read the question, it stated "when Peter covered 1/2 the distance, Tom was 4.5km in front of him".

Don't agree as the 2 total distances would be different.
