This is chemistry but i reeeaally need help on this. Its a super basic qn but i dont understand. I know there is a COOH and OH functional group in the compound but is C-C not a functional group for alkanes??

Alkanes have only C and H, all in single bond but C-C is not a functional group to define alkanes.
C-C presents in many other hydrocarbon substances too...
