(a) Rate of energy loss = 20 + 80 = 100 J/s. (Just read off the graph, by evaporation is 20 and by the other
3 is 80)

(b) Change in rate of energy loss = 60 - 20 = 40 J/s. The rate of energy loss by evaporation increased by 40 J/s between the start of the race to halfway of the race.
