Remember to make the denominator the same first. Then add the whole number and fraction. Do ask me if you dont undrstand.

The question asked for answer in metres, giving u hint that there's no need to convert to cm.

1) Find the lowest common multiple, that is 40
2) Convert the fractions to a denominator of 40 like what I've done.
3) Add up the whole numbers at the side first then the fractions
