Hi serene! the solution is very simple. As stated, the height and base is equal as such we can derive that the base is 24cm too. with that, the area of the large triangle is simply 24X24. As for the semi circle, i simply substituted using the formula and R is half of 24cm. Thanks and i hope you find this helpful! feel free to contact me for any other questions :)

For area of triangle the correct fomula for it should be 1/2×24×24 to get the correct answer

Do tell me if u need explanation. The whole figure length is 24 and not the height of the triangle. Try to look carefully.
