The vertical component acceleration is the acceleration due to gravity while the horizontal component acceleration is zero because there is no change in the horizontal component of velocity.

There is acceleration but the way you show is incorrect. This is a simple projectile motion without air resistance. The vertical component acceleration is the acceleration due to gravity while the horizontal component acceleration is zero because there is no change in the horizontal component of velocity.
