In all triangles, the angles add up to 180degrees. In an equilateral triangle, since all the sides are the same length, the angles are also the same size. Hence, angle ABC is 180/3=60degrees. Since BCD is a straight line, the angles on the line add up to 180degrees. Hence, angle ACE is 180-60-72=48degrees.
