2x² - 4x + 7
= 2(x² - 2x) + 7
= 2(x - 2x(1) + 1² - 1²) + 7
= 2(x - 2x(1) + 1²) - 2 + 7
= 2(x - 1)² + 5
= 2(x² - 2x) + 7
= 2(x - 2x(1) + 1² - 1²) + 7
= 2(x - 2x(1) + 1²) - 2 + 7
= 2(x - 1)² + 5
Alternatively,
2x² - 4x + 7
= 2(x² - 2x + 3.5)
= 2( (x - 2/2)² - (2/2)² + 3.5 )
= 2( (x - 1)² - 1 + 3.5 )
= 2( (x - 1)² + 2.5 )
= 2(x - 1)² + 5
2x² - 4x + 7
= 2(x² - 2x + 3.5)
= 2( (x - 2/2)² - (2/2)² + 3.5 )
= 2( (x - 1)² - 1 + 3.5 )
= 2( (x - 1)² + 2.5 )
= 2(x - 1)² + 5
