May i know why we should subtract 2 from 42?
Because the last pieces have 4 tacks.
If we count 1st piece with 2 tacks, then the last drawing should count with 2 tacks as well.
Just imagine, you have 2 drawing, you need 6 tacks to hold the drawing.
So, 6-2=4
4÷2 = 2 drawing
