Primary 4 Maths Singapore

Printer is $230 and laptop $800. But not sure if my method is right for P4. I removed the extra $570 for the 6 laptops from $5490. So I got:

9 units = 2070 ( 5490-3420)
1 unit = 230

is there a better/easier way to solve this?

Yes. Correct method taught at Primary school.
Draw a model for better visualisation for P4.

570×6= 2850
9⬛ + 2850 = 5490
9⬛ = 2640
1⬛ = 2640 ÷ 9
1⬛ = 230

Printer = 1⬛ = $230
