I need some help with this question because I find the area of square EFGH very odd.
I can find the area of the square EFGH to be (12)(12) - 4(1/2)(6)(6) = 72
And the three shaded parts half of square EFGH = 36
However, if EFGH is a square, how can the area be 72?
