Since ABCD is a square,
AD and CD are the same length.

AD = 13 cm.

7 (b)
You will need to use Pythagoras' Theorem.
a^2 + b^2 = c^2

DE^2 + 12^2 = 13^2
DE^2 + 144 = 169
DE^2 = 169 - 144
= 25

DE = 5 cm
