You are weird, MacDoodles. The solution is correct, so I have no idea why you need a new solution.

Mister Tan, thank you very much for your insight! Please forgive my impertience while allowing me to share the reasons for my reaction.

I can empthaize with the fact that some of the inquirers are very weak in mathematics, and hence may not be able to understand the solutions suggested. They can always seek further clarification, and I am sure those of us who offer help are more than willing to extend further assistance. The reason we are here to offer solutions is primary because we want to help.

To simply request for a new solution without reaching out just because one cannot understand the solution reeks of self-entitlement and an utter lack of respect for others. This is not the first time the person of concern has done this. Those of us who try to help do not require rewards for our time, but to simply dismiss us out of hand is very uncalled for. That is my two cents. Thank you very much for your time, Mister Tan. Salute

Hi Xavier, 'impertinence' is really too strong a word. Perhaps frustrated would be closer to what I have also felt / experienced.

Sadly, yes, lots of kids these days are very self-entitled and don't realise that those who render free help here and similar platforms, do so sincerely, without any hidden agenda.

Agree that the student can further ask to clarify steps within the working... but many find the 'need another answer' button easier to click on, rather than engage in a discussion.

Can always give them a chance to respond and guide them to ask to clarify - sadly, social graces are not taught in schools: only reprimands for bad / rude behaviour.

If these students continue to use the easy way out with the push of a button, when further clarification is required... then I typically ignore their future posts.
