Thanksss!!!!
Thanks for helping but is there another method for qns 29 i don’t rlly understand thank you!!!
Hi!
Sorry if my explanation isn't clear, I will try and simplify it for you so that it is easier to understand.
Let's take the price of the Angelfish as $x.
Average= (Price of Goldfish+Angelfish) divided by (How many types of Fish Mr. Singh Bought)
$7 = (x+9) divided by 2
Get rid of the divide by 2 by shifting it over, changing it to multiply
$7x2=(x+9)
$14=x+9
$14-$9=x
x=$5
Now we know that an Angelfish costs $5
Now let's take the number of Goldfish as y.
The question told us that the number of Goldfish and Angelfish is equal, so let's also take the number of Angelfish as y too.
Mr. Singh spent $32 more on the Goldfish than Angelfish.
Amount spent = Number of fish * price of fish
Amount spent on Goldfish = $9y
Amount spent on Angelfish = $5y
$32 = Amount spent on Goldfish minus Amount spent on Angelfish
$32 = $9y-$5y = $4y
Remember that y is the number of fish
$4y = $32
y= 32 divided by 4 = 8
That's how you will be able to get the number of Goldfish. Hope this helped you understand the solution more :)
