Greetings.
In order to form another 12 rows of 7, 12x7=84 chairs were needed. However, 6 of these chairs were added to the original number of chairs. So, 12x7-6=78 of these chairs came from plucking 2 chairs from each of the original rows of 9 chairs. These rows were then reduced to 7 chairs each.
Hence we can determine the original number of rows of 9 chairs : (12×7-6)÷(9-7)=78÷2=39.
For the concert, 6 more chairs were needed.
39x9+6=357 chairs.
