At first, there were 825 pupils, which is 100%. The boys was 52%, meaning there was 429 boys and 48% of girls, which is 396.

After the boys joined, the number of girls stayed constant but there was a change of percentage. Meaning that 396 (girls) became 36% when the boys joined. The boys became 64%.

1% (after)---> 396/36=11
Boys (after)---> 11x64=704
Boys joined---> 704-429=275

Answer is 275.
