1/3 add. 5/9 =8/9 (apple +orange)
What is it means 6/11 fruit sold are apple, though the apple sold already mentioned is 1/3 ? Don’t understand what the question is asking??? i thought there are only two kind of fruit ( which is only apple +orange)

I don’t understand, why the apple you multiple by 3??? But the orange you go add 5 unit??? Where did the 5 come from???? It is we try to make the denominator the same unit in order to add apple and orange together????

Don’t understand why??? Is it try to make the denominator to be the same??? ,, ??? How can we add 18+9 ,since the are different denominator, different unit can add together????

⅓ of the apples are sold is telling you that if you take the total apples as 3 units, 1 unit of them is sold.

But 6/11 of the fruits sold are apples means, when you look at the TOTAL number of fruits sold (apples sold and oranges sold),

6 parts out of 11 parts of fruit sold are apples.

You'll have to understand the wording correctly.

⅓ of apples are sold is not the same as ⅓ of all the fruits are sold.
