Ammonium sulfate contains both ammonium ions and sulfate ions. As ammonium ions and sulfate ions are oppositely charged, there is strong electrostatic attraction between them, giving rise to Ionic bondings.
why are they both oppositely charge? aren’t they both negatively charge?
Ammonium ion is a cation, which is positively charged. Sulfate ion is an anion, which is negatively charged.
