The word 'dad' is missing as one of the character
then just add in "dad"? like "By Dad picking me up..."

This rephrasing is pretty weird since it makes you use two "by"s in a sentence.

No, it is not. But, since we're on this topic, there is another (possibly better) way to rephrase this: By picking me up from school every day, Dad gets me to my tuition classes on time. This sounds a little more natural, in my opinion.
