There will be 45 sets of ABACA (135 As) plus a further ABAC.

Total number of letters
= 225 + 4
= 229

No. Greatest possible letters is ABAC for 137 A(s).
If lease possible, then stop at ABA.

Basically, adding a C behind increases the total letter count without increasing the number of As in the list.

I think your mistake is that you did not include the 4th letter C but since qn asked for greatest possible C should be included so it's 229 instead of 228
