I've got 31 tho. Most probably the same answer as wht you've got based on a little snip shot of your workings.

Yes I got 31. But the answer sheet is 38

After Royston gave 14 to Jieming,
Jieming have 20+14+14 = 48 more than Royston.
48÷2 = 24
Royston at 1st = 24+14 = 38

To get 31, I believe your difference (2u), you did was 20+14 but actually it is 20+14+14 instead. From the model, when R gives 14 to J, the difference actually increases by 14 TWICE. Hope this helps! ;))
