1. Dry ice (solid CO2) is at a lower temperature (-80⁰C) compared to pure ice (0⁰C) [hence better keeps ice cream frozen]
2. Dry ice sublimes to a gas. Pure ice melts (to a liquid) and may damage the ice cream packaging
