We cannot perform partial fraction directly because both the numerator and the denominator have order of 3 (the highest term is x3). We will first need to do a long division which result in an integer and a fraction with the numerator having an order of 2 (x2). We can then perform partial fraction on this fraction.
Thank you for your help but the middle portion of yr comments got blocked & i can't see what you have typed in.
I see, let me try to rephrase it. Basically we can only do partial fraction on proper fractions. Definition of a proper fraction is that the top (numerator) must have a lower order than the bottom (denominator). In this case both the top and bottom have an order of 3 ( x cube) that’s why we cannot do partial fraction directly. Hope this helps. Thanks
Thank you for explaining!
You are most welcome!
