I confirmed with Desmos that both answers are correct.

The phrase "rational numbers" simply means the fraction of two integers. So, your numbers for a and b can be in fractional form. Note that this includes negative numbers.

Here, a = 523/76 and b = -77/76. We simply break the fraction into two separate ones.
